Deborah Voigt Concert

Deborah Voigt, internationally known opera star, has become the preeminent dramatic soprano of her generation, winning enthusiastic acclaim from critics and the world’s opera audiences as one of today’s leading exponents of operas by Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, Giuseppe Verdi, as well as others.

Deborah gave her triumphant Carnegie Hall recital debut on April 7, 2004, with Brian Zeger as her accompanist.. Ms. Voigt sang six encores during which she sarcastically referred to “that (little black) dress” which provoked a standing, shouting, screaming ovation from the audience which stopped the song cold. In March and April 2004, she appeared at the Met in “Die Walkure” with tenor Placido Domingo and Maestro James Levine on the podium. On November 6, 2004, she was honored by the Albanese-Puccini Foundation at their annual concert in New York City.  She will open at The Met on November 18 through December 18, 2004, in Wagner’s Tannhauser. And once again, she will perform at the annual Macy parade on November 25.  She will be on tour in Europe during January and February, 2005 performing in Berlin and Toulouse, France after which she will return to Vero Beach to perform for the Vero Beach Opera Guild on February 25, 2005. During March and April,  2005, she will return to Carnegie Hall for a concert and then The Met to perform Un Ballo in Maschera (Masked Ball). During May and June, 2005 she will once again tour Europe and perform in Brussels and Paris.

Deborah Voigt is a Treasure Coast resident and returns here often between operatic performances and concert engagements. Despite her busy schedule, Deborah -this fabulous Opertic Diva- has once again graciously offered to perform a concert for her Vero Beach opera aficionados. Ms. Voigt performed a concert at The Community Church of Vero Beach, 1901 23rd Street, on Friday, February 25, at 7:00 PM.  She delighted the audience with  selections from both Verdi and Puccini operas. visit her website.
