Each year, the Vero Beach Opera awards a Vocal Scholarship to a college-bound Indian River County high school student or to a college student majoring in Vocal Arts/Performance or Music Education.

Molly Broughman has been selected the VBO 2011-2012 Vocal Scholarship Recipient.  Molly is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida studying vocal performance under the private instruction of Dr. Jeremy Hunt.  Molly graduated first in her class of 2009 at Vero Beach High School with an unweighted 4.0 GPA.  She has maintained a 4.0 average for her first three semesters of college.  Molly will be auditioning for the Opera program at UCF in August 2011.
